My Weekly Book Stack

Since I retired a year ago my days have been filled with traveling, knitting, gardening, watching the Mets, and reading. Our summer trip is over and done (driving up and down the southern coast to visit Charleston, Savannah, and the Kennedy Space Center for my husbands Retirement Victory Tour was soooo much fun). All of my knitting projects are done…until my daughter decides what colors she wants! The garden is established for the season, and it is just way too hot to be out there anytime after 9am and before 9pm. And the Mets…don’t even go there. So, what’s left? Reading you silly wabbit!

If you’ve been reading this blog, you will see that I read alot! So far this year I’ve read 86 books, and we’re only 6 months in! Obviously I never have enough books and am always on the look out for more. I recently read Deep Waters by Edward Martin which lead me to an interest in Kem Bennett. Off I go hunting for his books and I found a used copy of The Fabulous Wink. Immediately ordered it and it should be here in the next day or so. Can’t wait to read it and give let you all know how it is.

Then after reading Emma’s review of Portrait of a Murderer by Anne Meredith I had to read it. You can read her review here – Emma’s Bookish Corner. It is now in the mail and should be here soon. It will add to my growing list of British Library Crime Classics.

But before those even arrive, I have my NetGalley ARCs to read and review. I just started The Man That Got Away by Lynne Truss and so far it is great (I read A Shot in the Dark when it came out last year and loved it). I also have The Woman in the Veil by Laura Joh Rowland which I will probably read after one of the two above (whichever arrives first!).

OK, that should get me through to the weekend…
